Why it stays
quiet.
The owners found this plot by driving past a for-sale sign, and two things stopped them. There was an elephant sanctuary next door. And a line of trees along the bottom boundary formed a green wall they knew they would keep — a view over the canopy to the sea, and complete privacy beneath it.
The sanctuary’s seventy-plus rai of neighbouring land are given over to the herd — a green buffer along our boundary. Below the property there is a wooded gully with a stream and a small seasonal waterfall.
At six every evening the cicadas start. When they stop, the quiet that follows is part of the setting.
Turn left for Fisherman’s Village — restaurants, evening markets, somewhere to take children. Turn right for the airport and Chaweng. A back road over the top reaches Maenam one way and Lamai the other. Close enough to everything. Far enough from everything.
